PostPartum Doula Care

The wisdom tradition of Ayurveda returns power and healing to the hands of women. This is part of a revolution, a remembering, no matter our ancestry, there was once (and always is) women’s wisdom inherent to the initiations of our lives. Ayurveda offers us a path to return to those knowings.

The Sacred Window after birth is a time of transformation on all levels. Mind, body, and identity shift, dharma and service as Mother arrives. Women to women care during the post-partum period was not optional, it was vital, and built into these ancient systems.

We are learning to value the life bringers, the life givers, again, through learning basic principles to stabilize health and heal during the postpartum window. Our well-being in the 42 days after birth, sets the baseline for a woman’s health for her next 42 years.

There are a few ways to learn more, and do more for planning your postpartum with this timeless wisdom in mind, and with each option is the ability to cocreate and dream up your ideal postpartum. First time moms might need a little guidance, and for experienced mothers, you might know just what you need, or at least know you need something to be different 🙂

I have two children of my own ages 5 and 9. I have experimented with Ayurveda through two conscious conceptions, pregnancies, home births and Postpartum times. I share from my love of this work and my own experiences and needs as a mother.

I also feel that in some ways – postpartum never ends! But that soft, sensual, intense, powerful time immediately after birth is so vital to receiving and resting and nourishment for the marathon that is motherhood.
