Serve the women and families in your community during a time of huge transition and growth by becoming an Ayurveda Postpartum Doula. The birth of a child is one of the most powerful and life-changing events in a woman’s life, and the care she receives during the immediate postpartum window can set her up for faster healing, easier mothering, and long-lasting well-being. During this training you will learn about pregnancy, birth and postpartum through the lens and language of Ayurveda, while receiving training in traditional postpartum care practices, balanced with practical understanding for modern women.
The Sacred Window of postpartum is considered to be 42 days, and it is said that how the woman receives care in those early days sets her up for the next for 42 years of health. It is time for us to take back postpartum; to learn how to rest deeply, receive nourishment, and experience the power of being present.
Scope of practice
Graduates will be able to offer postpartum support services including in-home Abhyanga massage, meals and meal planning as a business or as a gift safely, within the Ayurvedic lense. Graduates are not considered Ayurvedic Health Counsellors or Practitioners, nor are able to treat or diagnose/assess imbalance from Western or Eastern perspective, unless within a separately held license/profession or certification.
